AMD and Intel going at it again over Quad core processor lines

Apparently AMD has thrown the gauntlet down to Intel's new line of Quad core processors challenging that the processors are not true Quad core processors, but are instead two dual core processors on the same chip.

AMD plans to release a true quad core processor sometime in 2007 which will purportedly outperform the Intel quad core processors.
