A Vista Service Pack Ahead Of Schedule?

Could it be that Microsoft has learned a lesson and might actually beat their promised date for the first service pack?

The rumor is that the first Vista Service Pack (SP1) could be released in the next few weeks.

If true this would be a welcomed sign as it would reverse a trend for software companies who for years have been setting unrealistic expectations with release dates.
