Using Remote Desktop With Multiple Monitors

Remote Desktop Dual MonitorsRemote management of your XP Pro system just got easier.

Revised Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) software will allow you to use it from your multiple monitor system and span the multiple monitors of the remote client being monitored.

It's as simple as it sounds with only two things to consider: Your local monitors must have the same screen resolution as the monitors you are connecting to and resolution on the remote monitor must be less than 4096x2048.

What's a CAT 5e Network Cable?

Network cables, also known as Cat 5e, twisted pair, connect PCs in an Ethernet network, so they can share data and resources like printers and Internet access.

Reduces Crosstalk
Category 5 cable includes four twisted pairs in a single cable jacket. This use of balanced lines helps preserve a high signal-to-noise ratio despite crosstalk interference from both external sources and other pairs.

For Networks, Cat 5e is Best
Cat 5e cable is an enhanced version of Cat 5 that adds specifications for far end crosstalk. Computer Service Now and the Tech Army Organization specify Cat 5e for all network jobs.

Note: Cat 5e cable does not enable longer cable distances for Ethernet networks: cables are still limited to a maximum of 328 ft (100 m) in length.

Get your office cat 5 connected with a service request today!

Conserving Laptop Battery power

Laptop Repair from Computer Service NowIf your in a situation where you have no power source or adapter for you laptop, its important to have a good reliable battery. You don't want to be in the middle of typing up a big report and then have your battery die and leave you with unsaved and unfinished work.

Typically a laptops battery will last anywhere from an hour to two and a half hours, depending on the laptop and the programs it is running. If your fully charges battery is not lasting more than an hour without power then you may want to have it checked out. Computer Service Now can make sure your laptop and battery are working to its full potential.

Here are some tips to keep your battery lasting as long as possible:
1. When you get a new battery make sure to fully charge it before its first use. On its first use be sure to discharge the battery fully before recharging. Recharge fully and repeat for the first few times.

2.
When your trying to conserve power close any unused programs or applications. This will reduce energy use.

3.
Use the laptops power management system. This application will help optimize power usage.

4. Try to avoid using graphic intensive applications. This reduces high performance usage which saves battery life.

5. Remove and disable PC cards, USB devices and other network adapters like Bluetooth and wireless LAN. These devices use battery energy even when they are not being used.

6. Try not to do things that require the use of your optical drive, like watching DVDs or listening to CDs.

7. Turn down the brightness on your display. lower brightness conserves more energy and it even conserves your human energy by causing less fatigue and eye strain.

Also keep in mind that having more system memory reduces the energy use because it takes less energy to store data on the system memory rather than on the virtual memory in the hard drive. So increasing system memory will reduced battery energy consumption.

If your laptop or its battery are having issues then call Computer Service Now at 877-422-1907 and get your laptop back to running at its full potential.
