On-Site Computer Service Testimonial – Nashville

My name is Christine Silva and I am the office manager for a doctor's office near Nashville, Tennessee. One Friday night last spring, a tornado came roaring through our area and caused quite a bit of damage. While our office was spared any major damage outside, our computer network was struck by lightning. Despite the use of a surge protector, we went into the office on Monday, prepared for what we thought would be just another day of business, only to find our entire system was down! I knew patients would soon be filing in for their appointments, expecting us to be to be on top of the most delicate details of their lives and even though we do keep a lot of our information backed up as a precautionary measure, we have come to rely heavily on the convenience of our computer system.

Of course, I didn't have time to take our entire network to the local repair shop, so I decided to call Computer Service Now. According to their website, www.computerservicenow.com , they offer on-site computer repair. I made a quick call and they were able to have a technician out to the office by 10:30 A.M., just two hours after I put in the call. Within half an hour, the technician had our network up and running again. Aside from the basic programs we use here in the office, I'm not exactly knowledgeable when it comes to computers, so I couldn't explain exactly what the technician did, but I do know he worked quickly and efficiently and we were able to pull up our patients' files by lunchtime. He also saved us a lot of money as we were so afraid we were going to have to purchase new equipment. Oh, and he even gave me some tips on how to prevent future damage from lightning strikes.

Working with Computer Service Now was one of the best experiences I've ever had with any computer problem I've had both personally and professionally. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is need of any type of computer service!

Microsoft Windows Repair Serivce

Microsoft Windows Repair Serivce

While there are so many reasons your computer can malfunction, many times it is not the hardware, but the operating system within the machine that is causing the problem. When the operating system becomes damaged, it can cause any number of problems for anyone who is operating Windows:

Viruses: A virus can be the biggest threat to any computer and no one is immune to them. They are extremely powerful and have been known to bring down entire networks. Once they're there inside your computer, they are very hard to remove. They attach themselves to literally hundreds of files meaning that once you think you've deleted the virus, you've more than likely missed many of its back-ups. They can wreak havoc on your computer and permanently damage your system.

Damaged Windows Registry: When your registry becomes damaged, your computer may become unbootable and you may receive several error messages. This occurs when programs are terminated without notice or when programs with access to the registry do not cleanly remove items store in the registry. This can also be caused by a virus or malware.

Spyware and Malware: These can cause damage to programs on your computer as well as endanger your personal information. When removed incorrectly, it can cause your entire system to stop functioning properly and even damage the BIOS in your motherboard.

Blue Screens of Death: This is an error screen displayed when your operating system encounters a major system error. They can be caused by poorly written device drivers, faulty memory, corrupt registry files, and incompatible DLLs. If you are not tech-savvy, it can take hours and even days to troubleshoot and locate the problem when you receive the Blue Screen of Death.

So what do you do when you run into one of these problems? Your best bet is to call Computer Service Now. With certifications in Microsoft products such as Microsoft Systems Administrator (MCSA) and Microsoft Systems Engineer (MCSE), our technicians can handle any problem and provide top Microsoft Windows Repair Service. And once your system is up and running again, we can help create a back-up to help prevent further disasters or security breaches.

Disaster Recovery Service

Disaster Recovery Service

You never know when disaster will strike and that is why any business of any size should have a good, solid Disaster Recovery Plan. You don't have to be a Fortune 1000 company with an entire IT staff and you don't have to be the most tech-saavy person or spend a lot of money. Below you will find a list of suggestions that will help anyone get started on creating an efficient and effective Disaster Recovery Plan:

Your Data:

1. Understand what your company's critical data is including accounting, inventory software, email, critical Word or Excel documents, etc.
2. Know where that data is stored and know what needs to be backed up for storage.
3. Know how often the data changes or is updated.
4. Understand the size of the data, so that you are not overly paying for services or wasting time and money on a product or service that is too small to back you up.

Your Plan:

1. Alternative locations such as temporary offices or warehouse space to house your employees, inventories, and computer systems should be found in advance.
2. Make vendor contact information easy to access and keep it handy in a secure off-set location.
3. Think of how you will communicate with your customers, both public and private and make sure you have some sort of database of their contact information ready and available.
4. Keep your employee contact plan and information off-site, as well. Make sure your employees know what to expect.
5. Make sure you have contacted a reliable Computer Rental Firm to know what is available to help you resume normal operations.
6. Keep an off-site collection of a set of usernames, passwords, software key-codes, and access information.
7. Make sure you have copies of software that may not be easily replaced and is specific to your business.
8. Consult with a computer service organization to implement data back-up and a plan for software-installation, data-reinstallation, and other disaster recovery service.

Your Survival:

1. Do not panic. Understand that disasters happen and whether or not you survive will depend on your Disaster Recovery Plan.
2. Remember, data is very important and can make or break you during times of disaster.
3. Never think that a good Disaster Recovery Plan has to be expensive or complex.
4. Act now because disaster can strike at any time.

Illinois Computer Service Statewide

"As the plant manager for a large biofuels producer in Decatur I recently gained a new appreciation of outsourcing specific I.T. services. We had historically kept a highly compensated Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer on staff.

Based on a few comments from his co-workers I was suspicious that we did not have a full time need for the high priced services he was here to offer the company. After talking it over with my management staff we decided to let that specific individual go with our plan being to outsource any advanced networking needs that might arise in the future. As things go this turned out for the best, as the employee had intended to put in his notice within the month to return to school for a masters degree.

The outsourcing idea worked out great as well. Now when the staff needs some specific Microsoft Server problem addressed we just call our Tech Special Forces rep and we can have an MCSE, a MCSA, or what ever type of specialist the job requires. The best part is that when we outsource our high end network help we only have to pay when there is a problem and I don't have to get on my management team for having an overpaid PC repair tech on the staff full time."

New Solid State Flash Drives

Solid State Flash Drives Beginning early next year, new flash-based solid-state drives will start going into production for use in Toshiba Laptops and other computer rental equipment. This new state of the art technology will use NAND flash memory in the new hard drives as opposed to todays conventional rotating magnetic disk. This new solid-state drive is even said to be able to offer faster boot times and less power consumption than todays hard disk drive.

This comes as great news to those who are in constant need of laptop repairs, because with the replacement of the rotating disks, hardware damage is even less likely to happen within your laptops system. Life expectancy of these new solid-state drives is approximately 1 million hours and they have a transfer speed of 3G bps.

These newly designed Flash Drives are scheduled to debut at the Las Vegas Convention Center "The Venetian" during the Consumer Electronics Show. This new solid state drive shows great promise in the computer world with the possibility of less laptop hardware failure and faster boot times.
