ATI Radeon Video Driver Update 10.12 Released by AMD

ATI Radeon CatalystAMD has just released version 10.12 of their ATI Radeon Video Card Drivers. This new update adds a bunch of new features and corrects a vast number of issues, issues that mostly deal with Windows 7. Companies tend to release online updates and patches for their products periodically. No product is ever perfect when it first comes out, especially if it was rushed with a strict release date. When a product does have a set time, it usually ships with a few problems as well as some buggy issues, which is why companies release patches.

Here are the full details on v10.12:

  • DivX accelerated graphics now available in the Radeon 6800 series of video cards
  • New OpenGL 4.1 features supported
  • Seventeen fixes for Windows 7 as well as 2 fixes for Vista and 2 for XP
  • Updates ATI Radeon display driver to v8.801
  • Updates ATI Catalyst Control Center to v8.801

If you want to check out all the details about v10.12 including all the new features, corrected issues and a full list compatible AMD/ATI GPU’s, then check out the Release Notes on Catalyst 10.12. You can also download the 32-bit version for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 if you want to. If you are looking for drivers compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows as well as other ATI related drivers like the ATI TV Wonder, ATI Integrated video or any other one, then you can download it whenever you want.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Catalyst Driver Suite contains the actual ATI Radeon display driver, the Southbridge/IXP driver, HydraVision and the ATI Catalyst Control Center. ATI regularly releases updates to their products, and it is especially good to see them fixing some major things that many customers may have been a little irritated with.
