The Infostealer.Dande is a pretty straight forward name and a pretty straight forward virus! The virus gets into your system and sends sensitive information back to its host. This is the type of virus that makes you want to change your bank passwords as soon as you get it.

“The year so far has been a particularly stressful one for enterprise IT staff. Early in the year, concerns over data breaches and point of sale POS malware gave retailers something to worry about.
The long-simmering headache of Windows XP migration came to a head when support for the venerable OS ended in April. That would normally have been the security headline of the month, but a vulnerability in OpenSSL known as Heartbleed reared its less than welcome head.

Persistent spammer or a spammer using a unique message to make you think that they aren’t? Since I am one of very few people who does not delete their spam I know I did not receive a message on that day, it’s just a weird unique spam message. I am still not going to call you.
“On Tuesdays 8th April 2014, I sent you an email Re: Internet Service las vegas
Let me know if you would be interested in this. We can schedule a call we will be pleased to explain strategies for how you can increase sales using online marketing that targets your local customers in Las Vegas.
Can I call you this week to discuss your campaign?”

Your First Line Probably Is Not An IT Person
For the average person your front line is not an IT person, but the front line of defense… is you! Seriously though, before a virus gets to your computer you are the one making the clicks! The second line of defensive is a solid anti-virus, between those two you and your computer should be safe.
